Brushing your teeth regularly is the most important thing you can do to take care of your teeth. It keeps them clean, removes any build up of plaque and gets rid of any fragments of food which may be stuck in your teeth. Dentists recommend you should brush at least twice a day to maintain good oral health.

To brush your teeth effectively, you should place the bristles of your toothbrush at the join between your gums and teeth, pointing towards to gums, and brush in small circular motions.

Make sure to brush the chewing surfaces of the teeth as well as the sides to ensure the teeth are cleaned as effectively as possible. As with the sides, the inside of the teeth and gums should be cleaned with small circular motions.

You should be brushing for at least 2 minutes every time, so try timing yourself to make sure you're brushing long enough. Must people notice that it seems like a long time at first so it can be useful to use a timer the first few times until you get used to it.
